HTTP Server Crash when Thread Key Limit Is Reached

Technote Number: 1098175

Problem:
This issue was reported to Quality Engineering and has been fixed in Domino
6.0.5 and Domino 6.5.4.

Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino Release 6.0.5 / 6.5.4 MR fix list
(available at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus):

Java
SPR# JFAA5VPDPR - Fixed a standalone Java application crash using the R6 local
interface on AIX. This regression was introduced in 6.0.1.

The crash occurs if a Java agent or API program repeatedly uses the NotesThread
class to access a Domino server. In some situations, Domino on AIX does not
release the thread keys, thereby reaching the thread key limit.

If you are running WebSphere Everyplace Access, which uses the NotesThread Java
class repeatedly, along with Domino on AIX, you can experience a similar issue,
which has been fixed in Domino 5.0.4, Domino 6.0.5, and Domino 6.5.4.

Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino Release fix lists (available at
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus):

Server - Server Reliability
SPR# MSAN4JDNQD - Fixed a Unix specific issue where a server could crash when a
thread key limit is reached due to repeated running of particular Java agents
or particular API programs. This problem hsa been fixed in 6.0.5, 6.5.4, and
5.0.4.
